I had the honor to present a topic for the SharePoint track at this past Saturday's Philly.NET Code Camp (version 2009.1) on SharePoint Event Receivers.  I was blown away (yet again) by the amount of people that came out on a gorgeous day (75+F) to stay inside and learn all things tech.  500+ people, 60 tracks/speakers, and just a ton of cool stuff.  And best of all...FREE!!  Thanks for all that came out to this and those that sat in on my talk.  If you attended you truly got to experience just how passionate we all are for the tech we work and play with.

The Event Receivers chat was done at an overiew level, with information culled from all over.  A real good blog entry on the topic (as well as a slick Event Receivers "plug in" for SharePoint) is at Brian Wilson's blog.

As reported on the SharePoint Team Blog, SP2 will be out on April 28th.  Plan all your patch windows accordigly, as well as spin up your new virtuals with it.  I'll be playing with it to see if updating the instructions for the clonable environment change. - M

Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 due to ship April 28th

SharePoint is "dropping" the "Office" moniker (the idea here is to keep Office related to client-side) and come next rev will be called Microsoft SharePoint 2010 (in conjunction w/the other 2010 releases like Exchange, etc). - M
